Overview
Every registered taxpayer can download the GST registration certificate from the GST portal. The certificate is password-protected and serves as proof of GSTIN for business transactions and compliance.
Eligibility
- You have a valid GSTIN and login credentials
- Your GST registration has been approved
- You have access to the authorised signatory's registered mobile or email for OTP if required

Step-by-Step Process
Visit the GST portal
Open https://gst.gov.in and click the Login button to access the taxpayer dashboard.

Register / Login
Click REGISTER if you are a new user, or LOGIN for an existing account.

Log in with your credentials
Enter your username, password, and captcha. Complete any OTP verification sent to the registered mobile or email.

Error: "Invalid credentials" — Reset your password using the Forgot Password option if needed.
Navigate to the certificate download section
After logging in, go to Services > User Services > View or Download Certificate.

Click the Download button to save the password-protected PDF of your GST registration certificate.

Open the PDF with the password
Open the PDF using the password: first 2 letters of the authorised signatory's name in small case followed by the last 5 digits of PAN.
