Overview
Ration cards are issued by state governments under the National Food Security Act. Eligible households can apply online through the respective state Food & Civil Supplies portal or a Common Service Centre to receive subsidised foodgrains.
Eligibility
- You are an ordinary resident of the state where you are applying
- Your household does not already hold an active ration card in the same state
- Your household meets the income or priority criteria set by the state
Documents Required
- Aadhaar cards of all family members
- Address proof (Aadhaar, utility bill, rent agreement, property tax receipt)
- Passport-size photographs of the head of family
- Income/caste/category certificate if required by the state
- Bank account details (optional, for DBT where applicable)
- Mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP

Step-by-Step Process
Visit your state Food & Civil Supplies portal
Open the official state ration card portal. The National Food Security Act portal at https://nfsa.gov.in lists state-wise links.

Create an account using your mobile number and Aadhaar, or log in if you already have credentials.
