Overview
e-PAN is a digitally signed PDF version of your PAN card issued by the Income Tax Department. If you have a valid PAN, you can download e-PAN free of charge from authorised portals using your PAN and date of birth or Aadhaar.
Eligibility
- You have a valid PAN allotted by the Income Tax Department
- You know your date of birth as per PAN records
- Your Aadhaar is linked if you are downloading through the e-Filing portal

Step-by-Step Process
Visit the Protean e-PAN download page
Go to the official Protean PAN services page and select the Download e-PAN option.
Download e-PAN
Click the Download e-PAN option to begin.

You can also download e-PAN from UTIITSL or the Income Tax e-Filing portal.
Enter PAN and date of birth
Fill in your 10-character PAN and date of birth exactly as per your PAN application. Enter the captcha and submit.

Error: "PAN not found" — Check that the PAN is correct and has already been allotted.
Complete OTP or captcha verification
Verify the request using the OTP sent to your registered mobile or email, or by entering the captcha as directed by the portal.

Use Resend OTP if you do not receive the code within a few minutes.
Download the e-PAN PDF
After verification, click the Download button to save the digitally signed e-PAN PDF.

Open the downloaded PDF using the password provided on the portal, usually your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.
