Overview
Passport reissue is required when your passport is lost, stolen, damaged, expired beyond the renewal window, or when you need to change personal details. The process is similar to renewal but requires additional documentation depending on the reason.
Eligibility
- Your passport is lost, stolen, damaged, or expired beyond the grace period
- You need to change personal details such as name or date of birth
- You are ready to provide an affidavit or police report if required

- Old passport (if available)
- Aadhaar or other identity and address proof
- Date of birth proof (if not in old passport)
- Police report or FIR for lost or stolen passport
- Affidavit or supporting documents for name or DOB change
- Passport-size photographs

Step-by-Step Process
Visit the Passport Seva Online Portal
Open https://passportindia.gov.in and select the option to apply for reissue of passport.

Log in or register
Enter your Passport Seva Login ID to access the dashboard. New users must register first.

Error: "Invalid Login ID" — Use the correct Login ID created during registration.
Choose the reissue reason
After logging in, select Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport and choose the correct reason for reissue.

Fill the form and upload documents
Complete the application form and upload a passport-size photograph. Provide old passport details and upload supporting documents for the selected reason.

Pay the reissue fee
Choose the booklet type and service. Pay the fee online. Lost or damaged cases may include an additional penalty.

Book PSK appointment
Select your preferred Passport Seva Kendra, date, and time slot. Print the application receipt and note the file number.
